Making it look a lot like Christmas

I really love getting my decorations up as early as possible, so I was glad that the first weekend in December was open. We invited Brice's brother up from Annapolis to join us. Keith arrived around lunchtime on Saturday and we had grilled cheese sandwiches. Then we headed out to a small Christmas tree farm owned by a co-worker of mine. We found a really great tree which is my favorite tree ever (and without any fancy tree-lot trimming) and had it freshly cut.

The boys got the lights on the tree for me and then lights outside while I did most of the hanging of the ornaments. I also made some hot chocolate for us. For dinner, we took Keith to a barbecue place we discovered. Not NC barbecue or anything, but the best we can find here. They only have outdoor seating, so it was a little chilly, but the boys enjoyed a rack of ribs just fine. There was a beer tasting going on at a nearby liquor store so we headed over for that and it seemed a good time was had by all. (I don't drink beer so I made for a good designated driver. While I thought everything tasted bad, I think all beer tastes bad, so one shouldn't ask my opinion.)


When we got home we watched Home Alone and I made some chocolate chip cookies with Christmas M&Ms and cookies for us to enjoy. Yes, we do a good job of Christmas-ing here at our house :-)
